2. Touch: High quality silk has a smooth and elastic touch, without any hard lumps; Poor quality silk, on the other hand, has a rough and inflexible texture, without a sense of moisture. There are relatively more cocoon stems, cocoon blocks, raw cocoon pieces, and pupae molting. Silk with an oily or moldy odor is considered inferior.

3. Burning: When silk burns, it immediately turns into ash and burns quickly. After combustion, it appears loose gray with a burning and burning taste. After burning, kapok can also be crushed with ashes.

4. Fiber strength: The better the strength and elongation of silk, the better the quality. The longer the silk thread is stretched, the better the quality. Generally, good mulberry silk can be pulled up to 100 centimeters or more.

5. Use disinfectant for dissolution testing. If it is real silk, put it into the disinfectant. After three to five minutes, the silk will gradually be dissolved and disappear by the disinfectant.

Fiber fineness: Mulberry silk is several times thinner than hair, while tussah silk is about as thick as hair. Actually, tussah silk is not as thick as hair and is much thinner than hair.
